Why use salt in a dishwasher?
There is a great deal of lime in tap water. Water with too much lime is known as ‘hard water’. Specific minerals in the water, such as magnesium and calcium, will leave lime scale on your dishes. These are white, unsightly stains that discolour your cutlery and glasses.
Using salt in the dishwasher prevents this issue. Your dishwasher contains a ‘mini’ water softener which removes these minerals from the water. As a result, your dishes will look amazing and your dishwasher will last longer. Lime is also damaging to your electronic devices. Salt for water softening offers a solution to both problems.
